THE SPOILS OF THE NATION

National Independence Day, July 1, 2024
Mogadishu, Somalia.

The war against the Somali nation is no longer waged over land, sea, or airspace. It is an assault on the very essence of being Somali—a calculated attack on our nationhood, our shared identity, and the fabric of our society.

The enemy's strategy is devastatingly clear: dismantle the Somali nationhood, and everything else falls into their hands. Tragically, Somali "gov't" in #Mogadishu is unconsciously or deliberately a brokerage of this destructive campaign. They're the most instrumental force executing the war project. Most of them are unconscious of the sinister project they're undertaking. Only running behind the money, which mostly comes from looting the national assets. Gathering of the spoils of their own country.

The grand plan is unmistakable: permanently extinguish the possibility of a Somali state reemerging as a strong, unified state in the Horn of Africa. This mission hinges on reducing the Somali people into fragmented clans consumed by mutual hatred, devoid of shared values, and stripped of a collective vision for the future. The goal is to obliterate nationhood itself.

Once this division is complete, the process of occupation begins—one clan entity at a time. When one is subdued, the others, disconnected and disinterested, will not rise in solidarity. The bonds of brotherhood will have been severed. With no shared identity or common cause, the Somali nation will be conquered, piece by piece.

This grim reality is already unfolding. Somalis are unwittingly complicit in their own undoing. Some even rationalize the destruction, clinging to the illusion that they can survive in the ashes of their own nation. They imagine a sovereign “clan state” emerging from the ashes, blind to the harsh realities of the international system and the brutal nature of global politics. They proclaim, "Let the republic die, so my clan can live."

This ideology—a destructive, self-annihilating theology—has taken root, becoming a dangerous belief system with countless adherents. It became a new religion. But these followers blindly perform the destructive rituals, fail to see the architects of their creed: foreign powers and strategic enemies who benefit from keeping Somali nation weak, divided and finally inexistant. They remain unaware that the clan entities are easy prey for the dangerous state system of the global order.

Let the message of truth reach the self-annihilating nation and adherents of the destructive rituals. There's no life in the death. There's no Somali state in the ashes of the Somali nation. The binary is simple and mutually exclusive. There's a Somali nationhood in the horn or no Somali nation in the horn. The choice is stark and unavoidable: a strong and just Somali state in the Horn of Africa or the erasure of the Somali identity altogether. To dismantle the nation is to pave the way for foreign states to occupy Somali soil—a complete erasure of our existence.

This is not a call for despair. Renounce the destructive ideology. Reject the faith that preaches self-destruction. Recognize the war for what it is—a calculated effort to obliterate Somali nationhood. The survival of the Somali nation depends on unity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to sovereignty. The stakes are clear: either a sovereign Somali nation rises in the Horn, or there will be no Somali nation left to speak of.
